Liz has been working in the field of landscape architecture for over 20 years. She grew up in California learning a love of plants from her father, and after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology at UC Berkeley Liz realized she could combine her love of people and plants through landscape architecture. She returned to UC Berkeley for a Master of Landscape Architecture degree and began her career working on large scale institutional projects both locally and internationally in China, India, Korea and Beirut at EDAW and WRT in San Francisco and Richard Burck Associates in Somerville, MA. In 2009, Liz launched her own firm, Elizabeth Gourley Design, and has continued her long standing interest in environmental stewardship, design and people through her own work. For the last three years, Liz has contributed her plant, design and construction knowledge in collaboration with G2 Collaborative. Liz is a plant aficionado and foodie, and combines the two with a love of edible landscapes.
